NotesIn my craftivist knitting adventures, the comment that I’ve heard most is, “I don’t have an issue with using wool, it’s more environmentally-friendly that using soy yarn, for example.” However, is this really true? Many times, the fact is that rearing, raising, keeping, feeding, transporting, slaughtering, and ultimate processing of livestock and other animals exploited and abused for their fur has quite an environmental impact in itself.
The above video provides examples of eco-friendly vegan alternatives for those that *choose* to forgo the animal fur and silk in their projects with environmental consciousness. Know of any others? Please share…
