Project Craftivism |
Craft + Activism = Craftivism= Changing the world & reaching out one person (human & non-human) at a time through craftivism and art. These are the projects that I get up to in my craftivism...all my finished projects are veganized in order to be both human & non-human-friendly. Know of any projects? Submit them! No? Pick one here and get involved! :) |
I need a new project!
I’m hoping for a conservation, wildlife, or animal rights theme this time.
Any suggestions?!
Finished! Off to the post office tomorrow :)
I based my uterus flag on Leonardo Da Vinci’s sketches of a woman’s uterus with an embryo. Even though he was considered an expert, he believed that our uterus was set-up exactly like that of a flower. Forward over 500 years later, and most men are still clueless about women’s bodies. Some women are uneducated about their bodies also. Some so much that they would let a man choose what she should or should not do with her own body.
This is a little space to remind every woman out there not to be a stereotype and to stand up for their rights and bodies. Get to know yourself and fight all the injustices that we still face on a daily basis for having been born women.
If you are looking to learn to knit, this is a great little guide to get you started with the basics.
Once you get the basics down, the possibilities and projects are endless :)
Progress on my uterus flag… :)
Had a brilliant day off embroidering for Terrilynn’s uterus project (search my blog for info). I hope to be done with this one soon :)
YEAH, Women’s Rights - my body, my rights!
Mr Sheep says, “Stop exploiting me for my fur (wool), crafters!”
Dedicated to those that post pictures of sheep with a note that usually says “thank you for your wool” as if that makes up for the exploitation, abuse, and ultimately, their being sent off for slaughter when they’re too old or spent.
Think about your actions and what they support. There are choices. Please choose to craft cruelty-free. Use your crafting powers for good :)

Made this little guy for a friend as a going away mini-present! Talk about biology geeks, hehehe I think I will make these for all my lab mates! B-day presents?!
Reducing your consumerism is the craftivist way, and handmade carries so much more thought and care behind it. Who wouldn’t love a handmade pressie :D
Shroom pattern from Ravelry.
Finished wildlife rescue knitted nest!! :D
Such a sweet and quite helpful project.
To get involved, search for the pattern on my blog or search Ravelry for both knitted and crocheted nest patterns.
Contact me for where to send or again, search this blog for the info. The wildlife rescue hospitals I contacted (in the USA) said they use these nests every single day, so they always welcome more.
Happy crafting for wildlife!
Choose to craft cruelty-free for the animals sake!
If you are unaware of how these so called products (ie. body parts) are obtained, please do a google search and learn about the horrors you are supporting with your money (and crafting) if you do use animal parts (feathers, wool and all other fur yarns, silk, leather, etc.)
It’s 100% possible to craft without animal body parts! Questions about how? Send them my way…
