Project Craftivism |
Craft + Activism = Craftivism= Changing the world & reaching out one person (human & non-human) at a time through craftivism and art. These are the projects that I get up to in my craftivism...all my finished projects are veganized in order to be both human & non-human-friendly. Know of any projects? Submit them! No? Pick one here and get involved! :) |
I need a new project!
I’m hoping for a conservation, wildlife, or animal rights theme this time.
Any suggestions?!
Finished! Off to the post office tomorrow :)
I based my uterus flag on Leonardo Da Vinci’s sketches of a woman’s uterus with an embryo. Even though he was considered an expert, he believed that our uterus was set-up exactly like that of a flower. Forward over 500 years later, and most men are still clueless about women’s bodies. Some women are uneducated about their bodies also. Some so much that they would let a man choose what she should or should not do with her own body.
This is a little space to remind every woman out there not to be a stereotype and to stand up for their rights and bodies. Get to know yourself and fight all the injustices that we still face on a daily basis for having been born women.
Progress on my uterus flag… :)
Had a brilliant day off embroidering for Terrilynn’s uterus project (search my blog for info). I hope to be done with this one soon :)
YEAH, Women’s Rights - my body, my rights!
YAY! My finished fabric blood bag is on The Blood Bag Project website :D
Check it out…and if you love crafting, why not take part in this awesome project yourself?
Read more about it on the site or search my blog for previous posts on this great project based in the UK (anyone can take part though).

Finished wildlife rescue knitted nest!! :D
Such a sweet and quite helpful project.
To get involved, search for the pattern on my blog or search Ravelry for both knitted and crocheted nest patterns.
Contact me for where to send or again, search this blog for the info. The wildlife rescue hospitals I contacted (in the USA) said they use these nests every single day, so they always welcome more.
Happy crafting for wildlife!
Choose to craft cruelty-free for the animals sake!
If you are unaware of how these so called products (ie. body parts) are obtained, please do a google search and learn about the horrors you are supporting with your money (and crafting) if you do use animal parts (feathers, wool and all other fur yarns, silk, leather, etc.)
It’s 100% possible to craft without animal body parts! Questions about how? Send them my way…

Make your own contribution to this great project :)
Finished my blood bag for The Blood Bag Project! Just add stuffing and finish last stitches. I made my name tag out of a leaf to go with the them.
I chose to add leaves and flowers to my blood bag because although blood is our life line, plants provide us with the oxygen it carries throughout our bodies. In turn, plants depend on the sun and wildlife, such as birds. In essence, we ( humans, non-humans, and plants) are all connected through a very delicate web. Remember to be kind to your bodies and the natural world on which we depend on.
I’m so ADD that instead of finishing the last 4 rows on my knitted wildlife rescue nest, I started making my contribution to The Blood Bag Project! I’m about half way done with it! I used all re-used items to make it via hand sewing :)
So fun!
Why not join in? She still needs quite a few to reach the goal. These bags will be raffled to benefit charities and increase awareness of a rare blood disease, diamond blackfan anaemia (all info on site; click to access). It’s a great way to help if you can’t give blood. If you can give, well, get to the blood bank already ;)
Off to finish my nest… :D
